A Digital School for Every Child – OurSchool.africa Has Launched!
8.3 million - that’s the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria today according to UNICEF but these aren’t just numbers. They are children whose dreams are on hold, whose futures are uncertain. Many live in remote villages where schools don’t exist, or in displacement camps with no access to classrooms or teachers. We knew we had to act. That’s why we launched OurSchool.africa, a digital school created for children who need education the most.
With pre-recorded curriculum-based lessons, our platform is designed to work offline or online, using low-cost mobile devices, smartboards, and solar-powered hubs to deliver quality education to even the hardest-to-reach places.
We’ve launched the beta version but the journey is just beginning. We see a great promise for educating children in slums, IDP camps, and remote communities. With a strong focus on Northern Nigeria where the out-of-school crisis is most severe, the launch of OurSchool starts our mission to take education to children just where they are.
